First off, sorry if this is the wrong place to bring this up, I couldn't really see a more appropriate forum for something like this.
So the scenario is as follows. Right now when I'm in a lister and I begin to type a little "Find" box pops up at the bottom of the lister and begins to check for files beginning with what I am typing.
I'm curious, is there a feature already present, or has anyone ever suggested being able to search from within the filename instead of always from the beginning, doing multiple selections for anything that matches until one file is singled out. Basically it would behave a bit like the "Filter" option, only it would be in real time, and it would still show all of the other files present in the directory and just select the ones that matched the criteria from anywhere in that current directory.
I'm not sure if I'm doing it justice explaining it, but here is an example:
Directory Listing
cat.doc
dog.jpg
lovers of cats.xls
history of the catholic church.doc
Typing "cat" into this lister would still leave the full directory listing and select "cat.doc", "lovers of cats.xls", and "history of the catholic church.doc". However, as soon as you typed "cath" only one selection would be present in the directory, "history of the catholic church.doc".
Let me know what you guys think.
