I recently noticed that I have several very long file names, which are deeply buried in my file folder structure (multiple folders), where their path length exceeds 300 characters. Yet still, Windows 11 and Directory Opus allows me to open these files. However, when I try to move the entire folder structure to an older computer on an older Windows operating system, their path length is too long (which limits to 256 characters). Is it Directory Opus, or Windows 11, or a combination of both, which allows me to have longer file path lengths? And if so, what is the maximum?
