Leo and Jon, I expect you are already planning to do this in a later beta. A list of all the new global variables, and whether each is glob or glob!, would be really useful for keeping track of things. Perhaps in "Preferences"? I couldn't find the glob! variables anywhere in C:\ProgramData\GPSoftware\Directory Opus, and I couldn't devise an appropriate button.
Ideally, the list would support adding, editing, removing, and toggling glob and glob!, on the analogy of Rapid Environment Editor (although once a variable has been identified, all such tasks can easily be done with a single button using dlgstring).
Thanks, Leo. I have just failed the task of finding obvious things in obvious places! A script to run all the variables to the output window would indeed be useful — then from there they can be saved to a .csv or .txt file.
This may be useful as a partial solution. The free software called "XML viewer" at mindfusion.eu/product1.html
seems to be a viewer-cum-editor that can work directly on the file uservars.oxc. It neatly displays all the save-to-disk glob! variables, and can add (with copy and paste), remove and edit variables.
The changes in the glob! variables only seem to be read into memory from the changed file uservars.oxc when DOpus is closed down and restarted. The situation may well be more subtle than this, however, and there may be a way to force DOpus to read in the changed file uservars.oxc without closing down.
