Like the subject says, if I open more than 5 listers Opus hangs using a lot of CPU power. Can anyone else duplicate this?

If you go to Task Manager and right-click dopus.exe in the process list, there's a Create Dump option. Zip & email the result to leo@gpsoft.com.au and we'll see if it reveals anything.
Please also link your account.
OK, thanks. Email sent and account linked...
Please try uninstalling Zemana AntiLogger and see if the problem still remains. (I would uninstall it completely and reboot, rather than just disable it. Disabling it may leave its hooks in place but "doing nothing", when the hook mechanism itself may be what's causing the problem.)
The dump indicates that it is injecting itself into almost every thread, and interfering with the way window messages are sent and received. Opus makes extensive use of custom window messages sent between threads, so if you're seeing this problem, and based on the crash dump, that component stands out as suspicious. It is not conclusive, however, so the problem could be elsewhere.
KeyCrypt64(*).dll is one of its components and, as you can see, it is all over the threads and stack traces, which is unusual at least:
Thanks. I have tried to uninstall Zemana Antilogger but that didn't help (I'd actually prefer to keep that program anyway).
I've been experimenting a bit and discovered that if I don't set Opus to replace Explorer I can open as many Explorer windows as I like, but as soon as I set Opus to replace Explorer the problem is there.
The problem is mostly with some programs I've written which have features that can open multiple folders in Explorer. If Opus is set to replace Explorer I'm experiencing the same problem here as with opening listers from the Opus taskbar icon - when I hit 5, sometimes 6 listers, it hangs.
I've however found that if I check the "Open external folders in a new tab" box there's no problem, I can open folders in as many tabs as I like from my programs, which I think is actually better than opening a lot of listers. So I guess I can just recommend those users of my programs who also use Opus to use that setting, if they experience the same problem.
That sounds like the hang is happening when Opus tells the shell which windows are showing which folders, since that is only needed when Explorer Replacement is on and about all the changes on Opus's side (vs the side requesting the folder to open).
It's most likely a third party component causing the conflict in some way, but it's hard to know which as it will be unique to your system, if the component that seemed suspicious has been eliminated as a possible cause.
If you want to make another dump file with that component removed, I can see if anything else stands out, and verify that the component is really out of the picture, in case the hook DLL is still left in place after uninstall.
Other antivirus or tools which modify the behavior of the Windows shell (e.g. the File Open dialogs) would be possible candidates. Most other types of tools would be unlikely to get involved (at least when causing such a specific, repeatable outcome), so I'd focus on those.
