In DO11 we can now automatically add columns to be sorted - e.g. Set SORTBY=+disksizerel - but it is not currently possible to position added columns -e.g. Set SORTBY=+disksizerel(2) - which are always placed at the end if they were not already present. Maybe something to consider as v11 evolves.

You can add the column normally (which lets you specify the position) and then sort by it.
(The main reason for the new functionality is so you can sort by things in thumbnails mode -- where you can't see the columns anyway -- if the columns aren't already populated in the lister. If you care were the columns are then you must be in Details or Power mode, in which case you can add the columns as you would have in the past and then sort by them on the next line.)
Seems a reasonable suggestion (notwithstanding what Leo said).
