In Beta 12 (not sure with 11 or not) my Google Drive file status icons (green checkmark) are missing. OneDrive icons markers are there, but nothing for Google.
In Windows Explorer both OneDrive and Google Drive files have their status icons.
Windows only allows up to 15 different overlay icons and uses many of the slots itself. The slots are per process and which extensions win can depend on the order they are triggered.
It's also possible Google's extension is going wrong oe intentionally avoiding any process except Explorer.exe.
Nothing has changed on our side here, but overlay icons are inherently unreliable. It's one of the reasons we are introducing Status Icons in Opus 12.

Can I replace the overlay icons with the status icons now? If yes how do I do this?

If Google provide a status column then you should be able to turn that into a status icon. Otherwise, I'm not sure if there would be a way to do it for Google Drive specifically.
