DO12 - Slow context menu

When selecting 700 image files and right-clicking them, the context menu takes 30 seconds to appear.

  • I realize that this may not be caused by DO12 (running beta 13), but since I've never encountered this I thought I'd report it in case it has to do with the image viewer.
  • Not seeing anything unusual in my context menu, i.e. these are all things I'm used to seeing, except "Cast to device" (a Win 10 thing) which I removed without improvement.

Would be grateful for any hints.

Best place to start:
[Crash, exit or high CPU when right-clicking certain files)

Thank you, Leo, that's brilliant.

  • With the suggested NirSoft shellExView, disabled Acronis. Went from 30 seconds to 3: I can live with that.

  • Disabling Acrobat would shave another 1.5 seconds but I need it.

  • The benchmark is with the Opus option to hide Windows context menu items, which brings it down to a quarter of a second.

After adding these to Prefs / Advanced / ignore_context_menus, the debugger shows that I'm down to 1.65 seconds.
Fabulous troubleshooting tools!
No idea what those are but I don't think they'll be missed.
