Is there a chance you could add another status bar code? One which aligns the next group of status-bar codes to right edge of the v-tabs area?
It would be easier to find specific details once you could position them exactly at the beginning of the filedisplay/end of v-tab area.
The gained blanked space in the screenshot below could be filled with other useful information, better seperation alltogether from my point of view.

I'm curious, though. If this feature were implemented, what would you suggest be done with that portion of the status bar if I turned off the tree panel (which I often do)?
This probably works best if you use two separate status bars in a dual-v setup like below (it's what I use and the setup the idea came from).
The code for the new alignment could just be ignored if the layout really does not fit, but I think it would work for a single status bar as well or even with activated trees. The already existing {rpad} code shrinks and expands sections of the status bar to achieve a good fit, I'd expect similar to happen when using the v-tab alignment code, any staus codes would appear or dissappear, depending on the size of the tree/v-tab area.
