Does Directory Opus Have A Session Manager?

Is there a way to restore tabs in Directory Opus after it has been shut down?

I know that it will do it automatically if you leave it open before restarting Windows, but what if I need to close Directory Opus, then want to re-open it with all the tabs I had open previously?

This should be it: Preferences > Launching Opus > Default Lister > Update Default Lister automatically when closing a Lister.

Good tip, jsys...
But, I don't want to change the default lister.

Changing the default lister is how it's done.

You can always make other actions open a particular layout if you want them to always open a fixed thing which is not affected by changes to the default lister, and then that layout will only change when you explicitly modify it.

Make Opus appear in the tray, then right click the icon and exit dopus. When you start Dopus again, all windows and tabs will reappear

That would be good if it worked skribb, but it didn't work for me unfortunately. :frowning:

Okay, when you start dopus again, do it from a shortcut that points to this:

"C:\Program Files\Directory Opus\dopus.exe" NOAUTOLISTER STARTUP

That's the Windows startup "method" and I just tried it myself.

  1. I right clicked the tray icon and clicked "exit directory opus"
  2. I started Dopus from the shortcut I mentioned above
  3. All my Lister windows were restored (but I don't use tabs, maybe it can't restore tabs but only lister windows?)

Yeah, that works. Thanks.

The ability is already there.
I am sure that the developers could implement it better for the user.

We have already.

[ul][li]Save a layout of how you want your "fixed default" to look.[/li]
[li]Set any actions which you want to open your fixed default to open that layout (and not the default lister).[/li][/ul]

[ul][li]Set the default lister to update automatically update when you close a window.[/li]
[li]Set any actions which you want to "re-open the last window" to use the default lister.[/li][/ul]

Together, that should give you what you're asking for.
