There is something drastically wrong with version 10's synchronization feature, I can happily say this is true, after I've uninstalled DOpusInstall[ver 10.0.5.0.4497 64bit] and installed DOpusInstall64(ver 9.5.6.0) - and it is working perfectly! - my synchronize attempt with DOpusInstall[ver 10.0.5.0.4497 64bit] failed when I tried to update folders on my external drive, folders I regularly update using DOpus. No matter which mode or comparable feature I try to use - and I have numerous new files added to my source directory, Dopus shows no changes after comparing the two folders.
I hope this bug is being seen to as it is a shame that this marvellous application is now riddled with bugs.
We need more details if you want us to investigate or explain what you are seeing.
Can you show us some examples of what you are synching, and how the Sync panel is configured, and then what the results are vs what you expect them to be?

like I explained in my original post - I don't see anything in the resultant folders, ie. source or target folders are blank = [no change] - by giving screen shots is going to give exactly what I'm explaining in my original post.
I'm trying to sync two folders, source and target - with the source folder carrying numerous new files and folders, and then, after opus compared the source and target folder, opus shows me that there is no changes in the comparison. [I varied all available settings in the Sync Panel - Mode: one way copy - Compare: date (different) or size - date (newer) or size - date (different) date (newer) byte comparison and size]
I've removed ver 10 and installed ver 9 and it's done the job for me - I'm very busy and don't have time to sit and do screen shots of all possibilities regarding such a simple bug.
We're quite busy as well, and as you're the only one in the entire world who has found this simple bug, we're not really going to be able to do anything about it without some more information.
Being a paid customer with a legal license and who does not have much experience in cracking and hunting down bugs that come up in applications and who are using Opus for many years and upgrading religiously every time a new version comes out, I certainly did not expect this kind of answer from you. And don't tell me I'm the only one complaining about a simple bug regarding Opus' Synchronizing bug, I've seen other issues on the forum regarding this bug.
With all due respect, how do you expect us to fix the problem with the amount of information you have provided?
You say sync doesn't work. On our computers and in every way we have thought to test it, sync works. If sync isn't working for you then there must be something particular about how you are using it which is causing either a bug in Opus or a misunderstanding in how you expect Opus to behave. (e.g. If a filter is enabled then it may be skipping everything, which would be confusing if you didn't realise it was doing that. Or if the wrong file display is the Source and the sync is going in the opposite direction to expected, that could also be confusing. Or there could be a bug, too, but if there is a bug we need more information to find it.)
In order to fix or explain whatever is going on, we need to know more detail than "sync isn't working."
This is not us being rude. This is just a fact of life. We cannot fix a technical problem without being given enough detail about what is happening.
It takes a few seconds to create a screenshot. Click the window, Alt-PrtScn, then Ctrl-V into a lister.
As far as I am aware, there are no threads on the forum about outstanding bugs where sync doesn't detect changes. If you're seeing the same thing that someone has written about in another thread, please link us to the thread and we will test what's described in it again to see if there has been a regression (or just to jog my memory, if I have forgotten the details of a past thread).
There was a fix to do with synching Library folders in 10.0.5.1-beta, but since you don't say what kind of folder is being synched I don't know whether or not to recommend you try installing the beta version.
Please give us more details. If you don't then we honestly cannot do anything to help as we have no information to go on.
I'm simply trying to synchronize two data folders - I'll install the beta version and see what happens, thank you I'm busy downloading it now and will report back.
I've now installed the beta version 10.0.5.2 did a synch and it worked on the two folders and elsewhere - thank you, and my apologies if I've been unfair.
My guess is that you had Synchronize sub-folders turned off before.
We noticed that some utility panel settings did not have good defaults in Opus 9, and others were not always correctly imported into Opus 10 from Opus 9 configs, so in a recent version we made it reset the affected utility panel (sync, find, etc.) settings to more sensible defaults the first time the newer version was launched.
It's just a guess, but if I'm right that it was that setting then it would've been solved quickly and easily had you posted a screenshot of how the sync panel was set up, and that's why we asked for details like that.
Leo, I'm sorry to say, but I did have Synchronize Sub-Folders turned on at all times, I made a point of always checking that setting. I'm glad it's sorted, all my synchronizing is done now.
