Now that out of the way, for a while now, each time I boot my computer back up in the morning at work, DOpus opens with Windows in the "Internet folder". Tiny screenshot below.
Believe me, that's not the tabs that were opened when I closed DOpus before I turned off the PC the day before.
I don't know what's wrong really.
I'm using v13.10 at work but, if a bug like this was fixed between that version and 13.15, I'll upgrade.
I also haven't tried manually updating it myself before shutting down the PC. That'd be something to try as well later today (hopefully I think about it).
I think it's obvious what's to change here.
Change that radio button to "Open the Default Lister" instead of that second option that only seem to apply when the PC is opened. That's the way I understand it anyway.
And, yeah, I'll upgrade... it's just that I try not to because it's a work PC, not my personal one, y'know.
The options there look correct. It should bring back any windows which were open when you rebooted. (If no windows were open when you rebooted, none will open at boot.)
If you see something else happen, we need details of how you opened the window(s) which had the wrong tabs in them.
The screenshot I took above made DOpus open the "Internet" tab at boot.
Instead, if I update the "default lister" each time I close DOpus, choosing the "Open the Default Lister" will open DOpus like I last closed it instead.
I do not know why that second option only opens the "Internet" tab because that's definitely not what was opened before I closed it the day before...
Note: if I close the lister, close the process, then re-open DOpus, the last tabs I had opened (for testing) are the ones showing up. The same happen if I just close the process without closing the lister first. This only happens by shutting down the PC and booting it back up.
Preferences / Launching Opus / Explorer Replacement
Open a new tab instead of a new window
Open all Default Lister tabs when opening a new window
If you then reboot and get your tabs, but also get that "Internet" folder in an additional tab that wasn't there before rebooting, it's because something else on the system is asking for that folder to be opened during boot.
(Without those options on, asking for a specific folder to be opened will open a window with just that folder and nothing else. With them on, you get the normal tabs plus the requested folder in an additional tab.)
It sometimes happens when something puts a shortcut to a folder in the Start Menu's startup folder (put /startup into the path field to go to it).
Another thing to try is turning off Explorer Replacement in Opus and then rebooting, to see if you get the same Internet folder (now in File Explorer), or if something else happens. If something else happens, let us know and we can try to reproduce it by configuring whatever is being opened.
Very little chances, but check also the Task Scheduler ("planificateur de tâches") to see if anything is put there that could be launch at startup, as this can be triggered by a small action that does not live much longer than the time to request to open this tab
I've seen some apps put things in there to be launched at startup or logon too, but not cleaning them properly once uninstalled.
I removed the Explorer replacement as Leo suggested and I also removed "Launch Directory Opus automatically at system startup".
When I opened this PC, Thunderbird and Microsoft Teams showed up. Nothing else. No Explorer folders showed up at all.
Next, I tested with just adding DOpus to startup and rebooted. When the PC booted up, thunderbird and Teams showed up. DOpus did as well now (duh) and the last tabs opened were the ones I had open yesterday before I left.
Next, I re-added Windows Explorer Replacement (which I set to "all folders") and rebooted. All the above happened + the "Internet" tab showed up again on top of everything else.
Sooooo... Windows Explorer Replacement something something??
Tracking down what's asking for the Internet folder may require some trial and error with anything set to run at startup (including things that run via Task Scheduler and potentially Services).
A quicker solution might be to add the Internet folder to the Replace Explorer for all but the following folders list in Preferences. That should make Opus ignore requests to open it, so they go through to the Windows Shell instead, as if Explorer Replacement wasn't on at all.
The folder that I've circled above is the folder that actually appears... the "Internet" folder. It's just "Desktop". But you can't add that to the list as you can see with the "OK" button being greyed out.
