DOpus in Vista - a big thumbs up

I got the business "official" release of Vista yesterday, so I installed 8.2.2.5
version & it works a dream.

At the start of the install, you get a popup informing you to set it in compatability mode, that I did & success.

right click on the install file, select propwerties, 2nd tab.

Right click on any file and choose properties. What do you see?

I have just upgraded one of my machines to Vista Home Premium.
I realise that there is no Vista version of Opus yet, but it is clear to me that the existing version works on Vista well enough to prefer it to Windows Explorer for most tasks. However there are some things that do not work. Would it be a help if we posted details of areas that do not yet work satisfactorily, as we come across them? If so, where?

If there's something you think is quite obscure and may not be found then by all means post it in this or one of the other Vista threads.

Anything that seems obvious isn't worth worrying about though as a few of the beta testers are running Vista now and we've tracked down a lot of things.

I see an error message, which I assume is what you see. Has anyone figured out why yet?

FWIW, ExplorerPlus does not have this problem, even though it hasn't been upgraded for Vista.

I get the same right-click for properties error message too.

Is there any news on how the Vista compatible version is coming along?

It's coming along quite well - it has proven more difficult than expected to make Opus fully compatible with Vista (especially with UAC) but on the whole we are on track. Currently we're hoping for release in mid- to late-March.

Just like to say that we have been forced (literally - MS revoked all our XP licences) to upgrade to Vista Business at work.

Opus works to a degree. The main issue is that when you have a lister showing Computer, double clicking an entry opens an Explorer window. To get around this, I placed a drive toolbar in the lister. Otherwise, most Opus stuff seems to work OK as long as you don't try and replace Explorer. It works enough for shuffling data around which is it's main use anyway.

Looking forward to a proper Vista version. If I have to suffer through Vista, at least it will be with Opus.
