DOpus using about 20 % of CPU

Hello:

I discovered by accident (a slower than usual other application) that DOpus used about 20 % of the CPU. I closed DOpus and restarted it, and it now uses 0. Unfortunately, I forgot to check how much memory it used – now, it uses ca 3800 kb.

The only things I had done except using DOpus the usual way was to double-click on a number of zip files, thus opening a new DOpus window every time to show the content of the zip files (but closing these windows immediately afterwards).

Any explanation to this? The only thing I can think of (and I am not knowlegable in these matters) is that the windows that opened when I double-clicked on zip files were not releasing its use of the CPU when I closed them. But then, there would be no reason for them to use 20 % of the CPU in the first place for what I had done, would there?

Nevertheless, I wanted to report this and see if anyone had an explanation.

Hans L

Opus was probably extracting data on the zip files you had open in the windows, to populate the Description column or similar. Until it's done it'll use some CPU.

If the Description column (and any similar columns that make Opus look inside each file) is turned off then it shouldn't happen anymore.

Hi Nudel:

I have columns Name, Ext, Modified and Size. That's it.

I'll keep an eye open for this behavior, and see if I can get any more info about it.
