Download complete open folder

When I finish downloading a file I get a pop up "Download complete" with options to run, open the folder, close.

Before I upgraded to Dopus 9.1 the Open folder option was working, but now it does not. Have I missed something or reset something unknowingly.

Any help/suggestions most welcome.

Setup: Windows XP Pro SP2

Are you talking about Internet Explorer or another program?

When you say it doesn't work, do you mean that when you click Open Folder nothing happens, or does Explorer open instead of Opus, or something else?

Hi nudel,

Yes Internet Explorer; when I click the open folder nothing happens.

The open folder works fine from Opera. I click and DOpus opens the requested folder. It does the same with the download manager I use.

But with IE it won't play nice :frowning:

IE7 on Vista seems okay to me, although there's a bit of a delay before IE's progress dialog can be closed for some reason. Next time I'm on XP I'll try there as well.

Which folder are you downloading to? (I've only tried Desktop so far.)

What's your setup under Settings -> Preferences -> Launching Opus -> Explorer Replacement? (Mine's set to Replace Explorer for all file system folders.)

If you go to Settings -> Preferences -> Miscellaneous -> Advanced, check that global_explorer_replacement is turned off. (It should be off by default.)

My settings are configured the same as yours.

IE7 is set to "Remember last Download Location". Usually everything is downloaded to a temp download folder on E: drive.

I tried downloading to a folder on the Desktop, but still no luck.

When it was working I had a similar problem as you with a delay before the progress dialog closed.

Try turning off the Explorer Replacement option in Opus, then OK the Preferences dialog. Then open the Preferences dialog again, turn the option back on, then OK the Preferences dialog once again.

That should cause Opus to re-write the relevant registry settings. Perhaps they've been damaged.

Nothing like a good mystery.

That didn't work either.

Can I save only the settings for 3 lister layouts and their formats. If so I can reinstall or reset Dopus. At the very least it might point to what is happening or in this case what is not happening

Easiest thing to do is backup all your settings using Settings -> Backup & Restore, then try the reinstall. If it fixes it we can try to work out what the setting difference was by comparing the old & new configs. If it doesn't make a difference then you can reimport your old config and you won't have lost anything.

Problem solved - sort of.

Because each PC's configuration is different it would seem that one of the latest Updates from Microsoft removed or reconfigured some of my IE7 settings (apparently Microsoft doesn't like the way I configure services and security) - don't know exactly which one.

I removed the last lot of IE7 updates and all is well; Dopus is behaving just the way it did prior to the updates

Thanks for your help nudel.
