I purchased a new PC and installed Directory Opus successfully. I exported the settings from my old PC and imported them into the new PC. All is good with one exception. My old PC had a DVD Drive (D:), My new PC does not. The problem is that all listers on the new PC have a button for drive D: which doesn't exist. Is there a way to remove this button?
That sounds like Windows thinks there is a D: drive, rather than a problem in the Opus configuration.
To test the theory, please open File Explorer and then use View > Options > View and turn off Hide Empty Drives, and finally look at the This PC folder (still in File Explorer).
Does the unexpected drive also appear there?
Is it showing the icon for a DVD drive or is it something else?
Is there really a USB drive with that letter? (Maybe an empty card reader?)
If so, changing the Go DRIVEBUTTONS command to Go DRIVEBUTTONS=hideempty will probably hide it from the toolbar.
On the other hand, if the drive letter seems erroneous, open the Start Menu and type disk management then hit return and it should open the Windows tool for partitioning drives and assigning drive letters. Be careful in there, and don't modify anything yet, but what does it show about the D drive there?
Sounds like it is a real drive. Probably a memory card reader/slot.
There are similar "hide empty" options for other places which drives are displayed if you need to hide it from them as well, when nothing is inserted into it.
