I am experiencing a strange problem which happens only if I doubleclick dropbox tray icon for the first time after reboot (on my Windows 7 and 10 too). The DOpus window opens but freezes for approx. 10 seconds with a "not responding" message in its title. Then it works again. Then if I doubleclick the dropbox tray icon again, it works right away.
What happens if you do the same in Explorer (without doing it in Opus first after the reboot)?
It works fine with Explorer (no delays).
Thanks for checking that.
If you disable the Dropbox shell extension(s) using ShellExView, do you still get the delay?
If that makes no difference, does setting Preferences / Folders / Folder Display / Show generic icons for... to All drives do anything?
If that doesn't either, which file display columns are visible when you go into the folder?
Which version of Opus are you seeing this with?
Disabling Dropbox shell extensions did not help.
Show generic icons for All drives did not help either, unfortunately.
The following columns are displayed: Name, Size, Type, Changed, Attrib.
DOpus version 11.18 x64, build 5920
I can install some program monitoring things in background and send you a log if it helps. Just need a recommendation what program to install.
Process Monitor is the tool to use.
Please set it to capture Registry and Filesystem events (using the icons near the top-right of its toolbar) for all processes, then do the action which is slow, then use File > Save within the tool to save a .PML log. (Make sure it is PML and not CSV.)
The .PML log will be large, but should compress down to a small size. If you email that to leo@gpsoft.com.au I can see if it indicates a cause of the delays.
Sent. Thank you for your support.
Sorry for the delay in looking at this.
If you turn off Explorer Replacement (Preferences / Launching Opus / Explorer Replacement: Don't replace Explorer) do you still see the problem?
Thanks for investigating this.
Explorer Replacement turned off -> reboot -> Dropbox doubleclick -> no delay -> Explorer Replacement turned on -> Dropbox doubleclick -> delay
The problem you were seeing with Dropbox and Explorer Replacement will hopefully be solved in 12.0.9 beta (not released yet).
I can't be certain the change we've made will fix it, as it's not something we could reproduce to experiment with, but we've refactored things to avoid the situation that the logs you sent indicated was happening, which we had also found could cause some other more minor issues. The other issues are definitely solved now, since we could test those, so we hope what you were seeing will also be solved once the new version is out.
