The Delete mode works great. However, my understanding is, the files 'checked' (X'd) for deletion are based on 'first found'. Is there a way to base it on other criteria----such as "file date/time stamp"?

Sort the lister by date (or whatever) and then search again.
I'm not sure if it's an accidental or intended feature but it allows you to do what you want since it changes which files are first.
