DWG Display In Viewer Pane (Brava) Stopped Working

Hey guys,

I know this topic has been discussed, and I had thought I was well versed on the matter... but just today, I have noticed that I am unable to preview .DWG files using the Brava Viewer plugin, it was working well the other day.

The only DOpus setting I have changed recently was the 'double-click desktop to launch' feature, which I don't think would affect the performance of the DWG viewer. I have not upgraded or changed any settings in Brava.

So, previously I was able to view DWGs within the viewer pane, and now when I click on a DWG with the viewer pane open, it attempts to download the DWG file, and presents a 'file download' dialogue box.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before, and/or knows of a possible solution? I had a thought that it might be something to do with Internet Explorer options (haven't changed them recently), but I really don't know.

Thanks for any help.

----EDIT----

I should add... Windows 8.1 64bit, ACAD 2014, DOpus 12.6 64bit, latest version of Brava viewer.

---EDIT 2----

I believe I have solved the issue, but I'm not 100% sure which step was the solution.

I reinstalled Autodesk DWGTrueView (which I had recently uninstalled - I think this would be unrelated) and I also disabled Internet Explorer 64bit in the DOpus Active-X plugin config. Working well again now, sorry for the false alarm guys.

Disabling IE 64-bit wouldn't be needed or have an effect from the screenshot, since it didn't have any extensions assigned to it.

I think reinstalling the DWG viewer was what fixed things there.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for the reply.

I just want to clarify, I reinstalled DWG TrueView, which was not the viewer I had set-up for the DOpus viewer. I have been using Brava DWG Viewer (which I did not touch). You reckon reinstalling TrueView added/fixed some framework or something?

Definitely something for me to keep in mind.

Thanks again.

Hey guys,

I've encountered this issue again - I believe the solution is to toggle the Brava setting for file association (default viewer):

Viewer broken > open Brava > disable file association > exit Brava > enter Brava > re-enable file association > exit Brava > working again.

Hope that helps someone - also posting for my own records.
