Dopus is packed with ridiculously powerful features and the content type detection is one of them.
i realised that i would like this feature to be more dynamic when the uncompressed column for archives was introduced. often i have one or two archives in the midst of many other non-archive files resulting in the uncompressed column not displaying. i could go about adding the uncompressed column to every folder format that is not Archive(Documents, Images, Movies, Music, Programs + custom added by users) so that it would show up but then i'd have the issue where the uncompressed column will still show even when there are no archives in the folder.
may i suggest, then, an addition: dynamic columns. the setup would be the same as it is now:
- define your file types group and create it in this example we'll add .zip. .rar, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .mp4, .avi, .mkv, .flac, .mp3
- enable the new content type format in Folder Formats in the preferences
- select the various columns you want to have loaded when a your new content type format is selected. in this case we'll have uncompressed for the archives and the media specific columns displayed for the various video and music files.
this is where my request comes in; lets say you have a mix of zips and gifs in the folder, the dynamic columns will only display matching columns for zips and gifs as configured in the Edit Format dialog meaning that we will not see columns relating to video or music being displayed. the same would happen when you have a mix of flacs and mkvs, only the columns you chose from the Movies and Music columns would be shown.
hopefully this is clear enough, i really think this would be a great addition to the content type detection as it would make it a bit more intelligent.
