Easy way to make a button a shortcut to a folder

what is the easiest way to make a button which is a shortcut to a folder?

i did find a way but it seemed a bit round about and i suspect there is a faster way

something like right dragging a folder onto the toolbar

Enter Customize mode and drag a folder onto a toolbar.
