Would it be possible to add a feature to tab groups that would allow you edit the format for all tabs within that group?
You could have a script which applies the current tab's format to all other tabs in the same window, and then saves over the last loaded folder tab group. Would that do the job?
It's probably not worth anyone's time for this--properties formatlist and set format makes the process simple enough.
