Everything search not working since updating it to latest beta

Hi. I updated my version of Everything to the latest beta and now it doesn't seem to work with Dopus anymore. It used to work with the previous beta, so it's weird that now it doesn't. Is there a way for me to tell Dopus where to look for the executable? I assume that is the issue.

Hi. I'm on the latest EV 1.5 version too, and is working fine here. Also, you don't need to configure anything, DOpus will "automagically" detect if Everything is running.

Have you tried:

  1. Starting Everything.
  2. Restarting DOpus, either by running: /home\dopusrt.exe /restart or by closing it with Close PROGRAM and opening it manually again?

What also happens sometimes, that Everything starts to rebuild its index, which takes a while. But usually that would be mentioned in the release notes of the Beta.

Restarted both and still no dice. I'm on version 1.5.0.1393a, for reference. The executable is in C:\Program Files\Everything 1.5a\Everything64.exe.

See, it doesn't even show up here in the search dropdown now.

Ah, I see. And before this, you were on v1.4.x? So when you say "latest beta", you mean v1.5.x alpha, right?

Have you set the alpha_instance flag to 0 in Everything?

Open the Everything window, then go to Tools > Options > Advanced.
Search for alpha_instance and make sure it's set to false.
Then restart both apps and try again.

Yeah. I could swear I was on one of the very early alphas until recently when I decided to do an update, and it used to work just fine.

I toggled that option off. It works again now! Thanks.
