Exif Rotation Is Not Always Shown in Thumbnail Mode

I recently used the 'Rotation' option in the Metadata Pane to add Exif Rotation to photos, but the rotation is not consistently displayed in the Lister.

Example:

I decided to rotate this photo:

I rotated it 270 degrees CW,

which is displayed with ExifTool as 90 degrees CW

Then I refreshed the lister, but is still looks like this:

But the photo IS displayed correctly in the Viewer Pane:

Many photos I rotated do display the rotation correctly, but why not all?
I opened the folder in a few different applications, and those applications displayed the rotated photo.
Might there be a fix for this?

Is Preferences / File Display Modes / Thumbnails / Rotate images automatically using EXIF metadata (affects all display modes) on?

Yes, that is how the preference is set.
MOST display correctly. I also made a copy of one that did not display correctly, and the copy does display correctly.

If the thumbnail has been cached and the file size and modification date haven't changed, Opus will be using the cached image.

Interesting. Is there a specific command that updates/refreshes the cache of selected images?

Yes, the cache is the problem, although I find it odd that only a few photos were affected, even though I couldn't find any differences between the photos that displayed as rotated and those that did not. None had a change in file size (bytes) or Modification date.

I cleared the cache via: File Display Modes > Thumbnails > Performance.

Images only get cached if they take more than a certain amount of time to load, so it could be that those images were slightly more complex/large/compressed in some way.

We'll look at making it remove them from the cache automatically if the rotation metadata is changed.
