Expand-contract folder pane

Hello, is there a way to quickly expand/contract a folder pane in dual view, by using a single key like the tilde, just as adobe does in its suite?

this is not like toggling between dual/single layout as returning resets tabs to default, unless there is a way to retain previously opened tabs.
I find this very useful especially when in details mode there are many columns that do not fit in current view, so with a click all desktop space is utilized, and then it returns to previous dual view.

The command you want is:

Set DUAL=Toggle,Remember

If you change the button for toggling dual-display mode on the default toolbar to run that (you just need to add ",Remember" to the end) then it will also affect the default F6 hotkey. Or you can create a separate button and/or hotkey if you wish to keep both behaviours.
