Is there a way in Folder Tabs to expand a folder with a single click? That would be extremely useful since the arrows on the left are small and not as fast. So the single click would simply expand/collapse the folder, and a double click would open the folder. The Single Click mode with the hover to expand is not what I'm looking for sadly
You can increase the size of the arrows if you want. Making a click on the folder itself expand/collapse it would mean there was no easy way to select it for operations.
The collapse part isn't important honestly, the thing that would be a game changer is being able to click a folder, expand it and select the folder, so you could still do all the operations and at the same time you're able to see the content of the folder. Why would this be a complex thing to do?
How would you select the folder without expanding it?
I'm really not following, I thought it was a pretty straightforward concept. I'll add additional screenshots to make it clear:
This is my view right now
This is what happens when I single click the first folder
This is what I would like to happen when I single click the first folder
The folder is still selected and if I want to do stuff to it (right click, move it, copy it...) I can still do it but it would simply save me a click on the left arrow, which is clunky even if you change the size of it
This is a silly suggestion.
How would you achieve the first outcome if it always gave you the second? What if the folder contains thousands of items? There has to be a way to select it WITHOUT it expanding.
With a toggle in the settings, if you don't want it you can disable it. Alternatively you can directly right-click on it. I really can't see why this would be a silly suggestion if there are thousands of toggles options in the settings for anything else
Set up middle mouse button event for switching?
GO {filepath} EXPANDBRANCH toggle
Sorry I'm very new to DO, where am I supposed to put this code?
Works like a charm ty, wish there was still a way to use the left click but I can live with this. How did you set up the file size to show both relative size and the number under the same column (in your first gif)?
Settings/Preferences/File Display Columns/Options.
The second set of options to enable display of graphs behind sizes and/or dates (modified or created).
