FAYT 'Find mode' not working

The FAYT 'Find mode' is not working. It turns into Error, whatever letter I type.

It is weird that it is working in the Dropbox folder and its sub-folders. It is working in the Downloads folder but not in its sub-folders. I could not find any other folder it is working in.
The issue is only with this mode, all other modes are working fine.

Pls help fix this issue.

Can you paste an example screenshot, so we can see what was typed and which files/folders are visible?

It got more interesting when I took the screenshots...

A) Worked in 'Downloads' folder':

B) Did not work in the same folder in another tab:

C) Doesn't work in most folders:

D) Funny observation here: It rightly found in the file display but turned into Error mode:

Do you have Preferences / File Display Modes / Details / Sort-field specific key scrolling turned on?

Yes, it was turned on. But turning it off is not solving the problem.
I see the issue more clearly now.
Most of my folders are sorted First by 'User Description'; Second by Name. I use user description to override sorting by name in certain cases. Example:

Downloads and Dropbox folders are exceptions. They are sorted by Modified date.
Irrespective of whether the 'Sort-field specific key scrolling' is turned on or off, find mode is working when the folder is sorted either by Name or by Modified date; and not working when sorted by 'User Description'.

I can't reproduce that. When it's turned off, typing searches the Name column even if the User Description column is the primary (or only) sort column.

Are you sure you had it turned off when you did the test?

Note that there are separate options for Details and Power modes. Make sure you turn off both (or at least the one for the mode you're using).

Oops! I had turned it off only in the Details mode.
It is working now. Thanks!
