Can you add a feature to select via a call to pre-load images in the background? When going through a folder with 00's or 000's of photos, it would be good to pre-load a directory's images to make review smoother instead of having to render one page at a time. It would be best of it could be done in the background so I can do something else as it processes and maybe don't need it as a default option as that could slow opening a folder when you click on a folder on purpose or by accident (I have seen this in another app where you can't do anything until it renders all the images . . )
Thanks!
You can control how many background threads are used from Preferences / File Display Modes / Thumbnails / Performance.
You can also turn on the Start loading thumbnails before they become visible option if you like. If that's turned off, thumbnails are only queued for load as they're needed.
Thanks Jon
I have updated the setting now and has improved the rendering. I do find I need to wait to let it render for a bit before scrolling through the folder - with 185k images in it - to avoid the issue all together
