I can't tell if this is a Dopus issue or something went kurfluey with my system (which otherwise continues to function normally).
Copying a large group of files from a usb to hard drive hangs under this circumstance:
- Some videos on the usb drive cannot be copied (maybe a corrupted file).
- An error prompts to skip, which i did choose.
- I then selected Unattended checkbox
- A different file also could not be copied (also possibly corrupted or in use)
Instead of showing an error, the copy simply hangs wile continuing to show the glowing progress bars and elapsed time.
Additional Info:
-
The "Copying" Window shows and is active but there is no progress beyond (in my case 8%).
-
I can switch between Errors and Progress tabs.
-
Clicking on Pause will pause the process
-
Then after pausing (or resuming), clicking Abort does nothing even after unchecking the
-
Unchecking the previously checked "Unattended" checkbox does not make any difference.
-
I have no modal windows open.
-
I cannot "close" the copying window using the x
-
The Lister remains active and working.
-
I had to "End all tasks" and kill Dopus to exit this issue.
-
Even after i ended all listers, Dopus.exe was still showing in my task manager and I could not restart Dopus. The command line in task manager was:
"C:\Program Files\GPSoftware\Directory Opus\dopus.exe" NOAUTOLISTER STARTUP -
Analyze wait chain shows dopus.exe running normally.
A system restart was needed to resolve this issue.
Correction:
After finishing this post, Dopus.exe did vanish from my task manager and I was able to restart Dopus without a system re-boot.
Restarting the copy shows popup error occurred when encountering an error. (The device is not ready. (21). This repeats for each file. So now I will restart my system.
