I have heavily customized the File Display toolbar that appears on top of every file lister over decades. Now, after the update to v13, all these customizations including all specifically drafted special icons are gone.
Why would that happen? How do I get the customized File Display toolbars back? Do I have to recreate them from scratch?
Also, all toolbar background images were not transferred when updating to V13.
If you installed Opus 13 over the top of Opus 12, your old toolbars should still be there. (But if Opus 12 was uninstalled first, the config will have been reset.)
If the install was over an existing config and the option to reset to the latest toolbars was chosen, backups will have been made. You can find them in the Customize window. There's a screenshot of what to look for near the top of the Toolbars, Menus and Hotkeys section of the Opus 13 Upgrade Tips.
Background images should be preserved, but where to find them may depend on how they were assigned. If they're assigned to individual toolbars, they should be found in Customize / Toolbars. If they were assigned globally to all toolbars, they should be under Preferences / Colors and Fonts / Images: Toolbars.
Sorry, I don't understand. Where is that option to be found?
I have ticked the box next to "Update all remaining toolbars and menus". From what I understand, this means "please update all remaining toolbars except the ones I have modified. Or does it mean something else?
Yes, I have installed Opus 13 over the top of Opus 12. And I have saved the existing config.
Will I now have to restore my entire previous configuration? How do i then specifically transfer the File Display toolbar to the new configuration? Unfortunately I have already customized some dozen things in v13. Is there a way to merge these with my previous configuration?
Wow! I just had been clicking around increasingly erratically in the settings, and suddenly I was automatically offered to reset specifically the File Display toolbar to the one contained in the config backup that I had just created when upgrading from v12. Unbelievable!
