Filename expansion on selecting thumbnails

Version: 13.5 (Build 8871)

Upgraded from 12 to 13. Imported my prior settings and 99% working as expected. The one setting/feature I had in 12 was to make sure that the filename stayed truncated when selecting a thumbnail. I searched for settings that might help but am unable to locate it. Now when I select a thumbnail, if it has an unusually long filename (e.g. instagram downloads) the entire filename will expand, sometimes scrolling down towards the bottom of the pane if necessary. Is there a way to avoid this.

Settings I've already tried include "Label Lines" which is set to 2 :: and it works. Unless I select a thumbnail no label goes beyond 2 lines. But if I select a thumbnail it could go to 22 lines. Opus 12 had a way to toggle this behavior.

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

The isn't currently an option to turn that off.

The issue was already discussed and Leo told that they have it on their list.

They don't seem to consider it a bug so it may take a while.

I am also waitung for a solution.

Opus is my primary reference for thumbnails display.
Problem is the filename expansion not only happens on selection, but already on focus even with no selection.
Focus is always on first item when entering a folder and this looks ugly:

I fully support this and insist again that I would really like to see this change. I hope we’re not the only three people interested in this, haha.

+1 for pref to turn off filename expansion on thumbnails please.

Support ++ for option to control the number of lines for the display of the filename for an expanded thumbnail
