I am trying to find out how to make sure than if I select a file or a folder in a pane, its parent on the left in a tree does not stay highlighted. The same happens if I make another selection in a different pane. In this case, files in both panes are highlighted.
The danger of it is that there is a high chance of deleting something wrong (I did it) because it is easy to mix up the one which needs to be deleted with the one that is really active.
Selections in active and inactive windows should already look very different, unless you have an unusual Opus configuration and/or are using an unusual visual style (e.g. via WindowBlinds).
Preferences / Display / Options has the relevant options.
Please, take a look at my screen shot.
In the current state I am having problems distinguishing what is active and what is not.
Because I work with a lot of data, especially network based, that frequently needs to be moved\deleted\migrated etc I am afraid of doing the wrong thing.
While it is all backed up, and I can restore it, the possibility of losing some data and/or causing downtime is still there.
As I said before, I ended up deleting a wrong local folder and I am trying to prevent it from happening again.
If you have any suggestion about better visual settings I'd love to try them.
Preferences / Display / Options / Fade selected item colors when file display does not have focus and Fade selected item colors when tree does not have focus (and adjust the opacity if needed).
