I cannot find File types in the Settings menu. Please tell me where it is.
Thanks, DB
The Settings menu is visible at the top left of your screenshot, in the main window behind the Preferences dialog. It isn’t in the Preferences dialog.
What Leo said is, of course, correct. Put another way, click Settings. In the menu that appears, find and click File Types.... Don't click Preferences.
Thank you, Leo and rcoleman for your prompt responses! However there is still no option for File types. See screenshot.
Never mind, by searching Preferences, I found another way to set Opus so that it will open images in Fastone image viewer. So I have found the solution to my need, even if the lack of settings is puzzling.
Directory Opus is sophisticated so I thank others for their patience. I really do need to have more Settings showing on the Menu. For example, I need this to have Opus start with Windows.
I am guessing that you are running the Light version of Opus?
Yes, I am. Which would explain why I do not have all the Settings you show in your screenshot. I thought that opening with Windows would be a basic feature. So unless someone else comes up with a solution, I can live with it until the time I upgrade.
Assuming you are not still in trial mode, if you link your account we can see whether you are using Light or Pro.
Aussieboyke, I can see from the receipt that I have the lite version. The account is already linked, if that is any help.
When your account is linked Pro or Light appears next to your username on your forum posts. That's not happening for you so it would seem that you have not successfully linked.
I am slowly learning how it works. I have now linked the account. It would be good if Opus would open with Windows. Thanks
I'm getting confused. This started out being about finding Filetypes. Now it's about Opus opening with Windows.
If you are around long enough, you will see pleas from Leo to please stick to one topic per thread.
That said, do you have the following in Preferences? I don't know if it's in Light or not.
For Pro vs Light differences see here.
I did look there, bit didn't see anything one way or the other about Startup, but Beck's last screen shot seems to indicate that that section of Preferences is missing from Light.
@Beck If what you are now talking about is Opus starting after a system boot, I'd think there would be non Opus ways to cause that.
Like put a shortcut to dopus.exe in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup,
Thanks rcoleman, that works and Opus now opens. It's where I start my work. This thread is now closed! Thanks for persistence.
The path is C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Either one would probably work.
