Flat view scrolls too slow when searching

In flat view mode when viewing 30,000 files, DO 9.1 scrolls as each key is typed which is agonizingly slow. I can watch it go through the alphabet which is a bit annoying.

Is there a setting to stop it from scrolling until i'm done typing the search string in?

In tests here this does not appear to be particularly slow, even with 60000 files. However, the "smooth scrolling" option may alter your perception of the speed - try turning this off in Preferences (Listers / File Display) and see if it improves things.

Waaaaaaaaay better.....

Maybe that should be the default?
