Focus Returns to DO - Keep on Top - No not working

When I double-click to open a file about half the time the program for the selected file opens and stays on top and half the time the program will briefly stay on top (just a flash) and then DO reverts to the top window. I can close the file and reopen and DO will stay under the opened program. I have tried with the program opened and closed. Happens with any file type. I have tried setting Keep on Top to default and then switching back to No as default. This started with the last build of 11. Was hoping 12 would correct.

Next time it happens, check that the On Top state is still set to No, in case something is switching it unexpectedly. Here's the best way to check it:

Also, please check that Preferences / File Operations / Progress Indicators / Delayed progress indicators is turned on, and set to 800 ms (both should be the defaults). It should not matter in theory, but it's possible it could be involved, so it's worth checking.

Aside from those two, another possibility is any tools you have installed which change normal window behavior, which could be causing interference.

Finally, if it only happens with certain file types then there are some other possibilities for what's going on.

Update - appears to happen only after double-clicking to open. DO does NOT move back to top if I open I file by right clicking and choosing open.

I'm having the same problem.
Just for video files and I've noticed it happens the most when the default program is set to a 64 bit player. I tried VLC, MPC and Potplayer. If I switch to the 32 bit versions of those programs it still happens every once in a while but most of the time the video opens on top.
Just like matsubaziki I had this problem in both Dopus 11 and 12.

32-bit or 64-bit shouldn't matter unless something very strange is going on (which could be the case with something which e.g. hooks and modifies mouse/window behavior, since they would have to use separate 32-bit and 64-bit hooks; are you running anything like that?).

I posted a suggestion and a question above which are still unanswered. Please look at those if you want to help get to the bottom of what you're seeing.

I have checked that the Keep on Top is set to No and that Delayed progress indicators is on and set to 800 ms.

I do have DisplayFusion running, but I've had that long before this problem started. And I did close it and tried again without improvement. I don't know of any other programs that might hook and modify mouse/window behavior.

-On Top state stays set to No
-Delayed progress indicators is turned on and is set to 800 ms
-Installed on work computer will only a few files types. Happens with PDF, Word docs, and Excel files. Does not happen with image files (jpeg, tiff, png, etc.).

I don't have any solid ideas, I'm afraid. It might be worth you both comparing which software, mouse drivers, antivirus, etc. you have installed, and possibly Opus config changes, in case there is a commonality.

I'd expect it to be something shared between the three systems (including the work computer, which may narrow things down), and also something reasonably uncommon, as if double-clicks on files were causing problems for a lot of people then we would have a lot of similar reports in the forum.
