I currently have my active folder tab highlighted in a different colour but because I have a habit of trying to perform tasks in the wrong lister wondered if there was a way of highlighting the tab that has focus.
Preferences / Display / Colors and Fonts / File display background and the File display border - ... colors are probably your best bet for that kind of thing.
Preferences / Display / Options / Fade selected item colors when file display is inactive can also help.
