Folder Icons

Is it possible to change the icons that are used for folders in the lister. I'm using Vista and I don't like the icons that Vista uses. I much prefer the XP style folder icons.

Added to this, my Open Folder icon looks like a zip folder. Not sure what's causing this.

You can change the icon for folders by going to Settings - Filetypes - then expand the System Filetypes section and double click the Folder item.

Once into that dialog box, just click the Change Icon button and go find an icon you like.

I'm not sure about the second part of your question.....

You can't change the folder icon through File Types for some reason. (I think it's a Windows thing, not an Opus thing.)

You have to edit the registry (or use one of the many programs which do it for you) if you want to change the folder icons in Opus and Explorer. This FAQ explains what to do:

[Change the default folder icon in Opus)

I stand corrected, and have learned something new.

Thanks nudel !

Thanks for the info Nudel. Any idea where Windows XP get its folder icons from? I want to replace my Vista icons with the XP style folder icons.

Shell32.dll I think. Not sure though.
