Folder tree: select folder by clicking next to it

In Windows Explorer, it's possible to select a folder in the folder tree both by clicking on its name, and by clicking next to it.

In DOpus, you have to click on the folder's name.

I could not find a setting for this, but is it nonetheless possible in DOpus? I'd really like this feature.

Thank you.

If you turn on the Full-row selection option in Preferences / Listers / Folder Tree it will give you this behaviour.

Brilliant! I must have overlooked this one. Thanks a lot.

Amonst orum rules is: one question per thread. But since this looks like a brief thread and since the question is solved I wanted to ask this.

The downside of fullrow selection is that you can't draw a selection-box around files. If you click and hold it will drag the file/folder..Is there a way to avoid this?

Use Power Mode instead of Details mode. By default in Power Mode you can drag up & down to select/deselect things and you can drag left & right to initiate drag & drop.

You can also use Details mode with the "Full-row selection: Display only" option turned on, in which case it behaves like normal details mode except that selected items are highlighted across their entire row (but the mouse works the same as it does normally).

Note to anyone else reading this thread: We're now talking about the file display rather than the folder tree. You can't drag-select or multi-select in the folder tree, obviously.

I noticed that double clicking doesn't work; is this by design or perhaps a bug?

Double clicking what? (In which mode?)

The folder tree? Double-clicking things in the folder tree (left panel) has no effect. Only the file display (main panel) responds to double-clicks.

Sorry, I was referring to the original question (before the topic hijack :stuck_out_tongue:).

Double-clicking folders expands/collapses them (I don't know why you state it has no effect?), but only when you actually click on its name, even when 'Full-row selection' is turned on.

Ah, I see what you mean now.

That should be changed, I think. I've put it into GPSoft's to-do list.it.

Thank you.
