Venerable ones.
Has something been done recently to FOLDERCONTENT, my bigger menus are taking noticeably longer to open ?
Even the smaller ones have some lag that was not there last week (maybe week before)
Hello, I have a folder with A LOT of directories (15530) and now I can't use anymore the left branch tree of folders (Folder structure) because simply seems like hang on.
Circle circle circle until I desperate exit from Directory Opus. This happens with last version 13.24; so uninstalled and reinstalles the 13.23 version and the problem is still here.
If I close the folder structure windows on the left side I can work well, this is the only workaround I found
This thread is about Go FOLDERCONTENT buttons. If you have a problem with the folder tree, please start a separate thread for that.
(Please also check how performance is in File Explorer first. If the problem isn't tied to a change in Opus then it may be an issue with how quickly your system can list the folders which could affect everything and not just Opus.)
Thx, given me some motivation to run a few tests:
running
Directory Opus 13.24.7 (Beta) Build 9517 x64
OS 10.0 (B:26200 P:2 T:1) SP 0.0
i have restored some backups
20/7/2026 - 1 to 2 seconds
21/7/2026 - 15 to 20 seconds
so it is not the directory opus version as that has been the same when restoring backups, it must be something to do with my config, either a setting or a script.
how do I proceed from here ?
EDIT: checked scripts - does not seem to be a script
must be a setting - how do i diff settings please ?
Try 'Disable All Scripts' from the File menu in Script Management dialog
If doing that gets rid of the delay then you need to do a process of elimination to determine what script. Depending on how many scripts you have installed, either toggling one by one and test for the delay OR disable half of them then based on the test results test the other half (or half of the half and so on)
As for the configs you can use Beyond Compare or something similar to see what has changed in the config backups.
Another thing you could test is the evaluator by disabling it temporarily with Set EVALUATORDISABLE=toggle
thx - it is not a script.
will rollback and try and restore what settings have been changed/added in 13 days from memory, which for a Directory Opus addict is a lot of settings, mostly the new statusbar stuff.
