how do i have the format lock set to locked as the default setting? when i save a lister layout it is saved as unlocked.
i have the standard status bar code (i think)
{sd}/{td} folders, {sf}/{tf} files, {sba} selected{h!} ({hi} hidden items){h!}{rpad}

do i need to add something to the {fl} section?
The status bar only displays the state of the lock. It has no effect on what the state is (except that it lets you change the state if you click the lock icon).
Looks like Layouts do not save the format lock state. I've filed a feature request with GPSoftware as it would make sense if they did.
If it's any use, Styles can set the format lock state. Styles are like Layouts but they only affect one lister.
ok, i will try that suggestion out. thank you Leo. it will work well for me as it is, i really only want it appled to a single lister layout.
i didn't end up trying styles but adding copy of the format lock button worked. the locked state was saved when i saved the lister.
