Right now, after a search, when opening containing folder, the search results are lost.
I mean the Coll:// has gone, the 'tag-boxes' are gone (see below)
To avoid this from happening, I open a 2nd session of Opus, go down to the folder I want to open do whatever I need to do there.
In case of deeply nested folders, this is a bit timeconsuming.
How to avoid this?
I.e. is there a way to 'temporarily' jump out of the coll:// folder to the containing folder and get back again into the coll:// folder?
but keeping those 'tag-boxes' in place?
If not, would this not be a new program feature?
You should keep that option on, but it only changes a very specific scenario, not the general case, which I forgot.
Please try this (screenshot below in case anything is not clear from the description):
[ul][li]Select Settings -> File Types.[/li]
[li]Double-click Collection item in the top part of the list.[/li]
[li]Double-click the existing Open Containing Folder menu item.[/li]
[li]It should start with go opencontainer as the command. Add on NEWTAB=findexisting so the full command is this:
go opencontainer NEWTAB=findexisting
[/li]
[li]Click OK in each of the 3 windows to save the change.[/li][/ul]
Now, when you right-click something in a collection and open the container, the container will open in a new tab instead of replacing the current one. That way, when using the Duplicate Finder's delete/checkbox mode you can close the tab (or keep it open and switch back to the other tab), and the original tab will still be in checkbox mode.
