If I create an FTP site in the FTP address book, I want to have this as a favorite (which sits on a toolbar of favorites).
The only way I can see to do this is to navigate to the site, then click "Add to Favorites". HOWEVER, that then stores the FTP userid & password in the favorite. If I then change the password, I must change BOTH the address book and the favorite.
I see the favorite does store the name of the address book SITE so presumably it picks up other site details, but chooses to store the userid & password seperately.
Can we change this? Thanks
ps. changing password in the address book is much easier than in the favorite where I must reinsert userid & password into the URL using correct formatting.
Can you not use the “FTP Address book” or “FTP Address menu” button on your toolbar? This way you won’t have to worry about updating in two places and you can enter usernames and passwords in the address book as normal.
Yes, that is an option thanks Reck, however it adds all address book entries to the toolbar not just the select few I had in my favorites.
Use Favorites -> Edit Favorites and then click the add icon above the list.
Name the new favorite whatever you like and set the folder to the name of your FTP bookmark, with a @ before it.
For example, if the FTP bookmark is called My Site then type @My Site into the Folder field.

It would be useful if the Add To Favorites saved in that format for FTP.
