[Funny bug] inifinit loop of windows :)

Hi,

I think I found a bug and I thought it was a good idea to post about it here (I already submitted a bug report to GPSoft about it).

If you enter a path like this one: 'C://Apps' in the address field, then press ENTER, it will cause DOpus to enter an infinit loop and opening new listers. Until you kill the 'dopus' process. The path may need to exist or not, I didn't check that. Here it does exist.

Can anyone confirm this ?

This happens in DOpus 9.1.1.8.3351 [32bit] through the latest one and WinXP SP3.

Nope. Your syntax is wrong, anyway, it will be automatically changed into "C:\apps" (at least here), which will only cause a "directory does not exist" message.

By the way, your version is quite outdated, the current version is 9.1.3.0.3499.x86.

On my computer, c:\hp is an existing directory. When I enter c:\hp (correct) DOpus opens c:\hp in the current lister.
When I enter c://hp (wrong) DOpus doesn't 'enter an infinit loop' as you describe, but c:\hp opens in (a new) Windows Explorer window ...

BUT: when I enable explorer replacement, I also get the 'infinit loop'.

DOpus 9.1.3.0.3499.x86 (Vista)

Happens for me as well. I've filed a bug report with GPSoft.

Thank you

I love when you fill a report and people tell you you're the problem

I get this...

Strange!!!

[/quote]Yes, it seems the directory must already exist to achieve the 'Infinite Listers Effect'.
Explorer replacement is already enabled here.

But, It may well be the best idea for a screensaver I've seen in years !
I'm still using a tinkered up Syntrillium screensaver called Snoqualmie.
I haven't yet found a way for the new windows generated to inherit transparency though.
I'm still using the Window Titlebar context menu of Powermenu to give transparency to windows when needed or desired.
I'm not quite certain as of this moment what code for it I'm using for PowerMenu today, but I remember that I wrote a short post about it long ago here.
Abut %30 transparency would be just beautiful ....
