If I widen a column width in details mode, then close DOpus, the next time that I open that folder in DOpus, the column width is narrow again. I am sure there is something simple that I need to do.
Can someone please tell me?
Thanks.

Set your columns and use Settings>Set as default lister. That should do the trick. Another way is redefining folder format. Depends on what you want to achieve.

But I don't want to expand the column of every folder.

I guess I know what you mean. Even if you define folder format for this directory, default format will be used anyway when opening a new lister. Which is imo wrong. I guess you should send a request to GPSoft to change this behaviour.

Then use Tools -> Folder Options and click Save -> For This Folder.
There's also an Auto-Size option which automatically resizes all columns to fit whatever is in them, which I quite like. Some people don't like it though.

Where was that auto-size feature?
It's on the Display tab when you edit a Folder Format or view the Folder Options dialog.
