Going back to v. 10

Don't know about anyone else, but for a fairly long time now I have become increasingly frustrated with DOpus freezing and generally not behaving as the once-beloved program always had. I found myself having to use Explorer more and more, which I hated. This week I removed v. 12.7 with Revo uninstaller and installed 10.5.7. Wow - I can't believe the difference. Everything works again - I can even see my Android phone in my drive list and navigate and transfer files to and from it without a single hitch. Just saying. I will try going to v 11 again and work my way up, but with a full, clean uninstall between each "upgrade" and see how that goes.

Did you try the guides in the FAQs about solving slowdowns/crashes when changing folders or right-clicking files? They should let you find the cause of the slowdown and get Opus 12 running as fast as 10.

I expect you're finding 10 faster due to either a configuration issue or some interaction with 3rd party shell extensions. Finding the cause and solving it, while retaining all the new features and fixes, is a better idea than relegating yourself to a decade old version.

We're happy to help solve the problem (provided you link your forum account), but need more detail about what is slow and what's being done at the time the problem happens. Following the guides in the FAQs first is also recommended.

Thanks, Leo. I uninstalled 10 and reinstalled 12, and so far it seems fine - I can see my (obscure Android) phone on my Drive toolbar! I don't know that the problem was my configuration - it might well be, but I don't mess with too much other than style choices. Anyway, I have restored my preferred config and so far so good. Thanks again.
