Good old FIND where are you...?

After 8 day working with dopus 10 i finally can say that i miss so much the good old find window.
the new one make me sick. :frowning:

the find btw utility panel can not be adjusted vertically..
the output is limited to lister or collection...
after using FIND i need to close the find panel and the created lister as well

Please give us back the find window... or at least give us the option to open it in vertical mode
may with a small optional output area below...

thnx in advance

Why do you need to close the whole lister after doing a find??

My impression is that most of the complaints about the Find panel are due to not understanding how it works, to be honest.

I despised the loss of the find window to start with. I think if you use the 'new lister with a different layout' trick you'll feel about 90% back to where you wanted.

The rest of the layout issues... well I hope we'll have more control over where in the DOpus window the utility panel appears in a later version.

At the moment, I have found a configuration that I'm happy to live with for the moment.

Leo; that's a bit harsh imho  I think everyone who was using the old find window got a bit of a slap around the chops the first time they hit CTRL+F in v10. I agree that having one find function makes for more maintainable code, but the loss was quite a shock; one that I'm mostly over now it has to be said.

Just to confirm Leo's harsh statement ...

In Vn 9 Find, when the results were shown you could move, copy, or delete and the actions would effect the original files.

In Vn 10, when the results are shown the original files are not affected when you move or delete the results.

Is there a way to manage files on the results display like in Vn 9?

Not sure what you are doing to see that. Unless you're moving files to another collection, moving them would move the real files. Deleting would delete the real files, too. (There is a separate "Remove from Collection" command for only removing things from the list of results.)

Can you show a screenshot that explains what you are doing, and say what you're clicking / dragging / etc. to perform the action? That might clear up where the confusion/issue is.

The V10 find isn't new, by the way. It was in V9 as well. The fact that so many people only found the old one and didn't realise the newer one existed is one of the reasons the old one was removed. (A couple of bugs, a lot of limitations and unwanted complexity/maintenance were the other reasons.)
