When trying to access the help file on the portable version, I'm getting the prompt that states the help file is missing, and asking if I want to load the web version. I figured the proper help file would be handy for script editing, etc. so I grabbed the chm file from my desktop installation, but I can't seem to find a location in the installation folder where DOpus will recognize it from within the program, any ideas? Cheers.
I'm pretty sure I had that option checked when I did the export, but I'll try it again. Also I tried manually putting the Help folder containing the chm into that same folder, but DOpus still doesn't recognize it. If It makes any difference I've got it set up with the Portable Apps platform, so the path that matches the one in your image would be E:\PortableApps\DirectoryOpusPortable\Data, but I tried a few other folders as well to no avail.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have the help file included by default? I imagine more users would want it installed rather than F1 bringing up an error message. Or is this deliberate because the PDF version is not as up-to-date as the web version?
Are we talking about HDD installs or portable exports now?
The CHM help file is included in HDD installs. (It's not optional, you just get it. I'm not sure what happened with your HDD install if it was missing from that.)
With USB exports, it's optional in case you want to save space on a small USB stick. (Plugins and lots of other things are also optional.)
The PDF help file isn't part of the installer at all, whether HDD or portable, but you'd normally only really want the PDF version for printing.

USB in this case. The HHD version works fine.
That makes sense but do people still use memory sticks that small?
I meant the CHM, not the PDF version so ignore that.
