Hide all toolbars = bad

i wanted to make a nice clean desktop screenshot that included DOpus showing some MP3 folders, so i hid all my toolbars, including the menu bar, to maximize the effect. but then i couldn't bring them back.

luckily i've been making daily backups of my /dopusdata folder so once i restored all the files and restarted DOpus, my toolbars were there again.

so this post is just a warning - don't hide all your toolbars because (unless i missed something) it's kind of tough to bring them back

Just right click -> customize to bring them back:

ah, but i don't get those options. that's the first thing i tried, but i just have a standard menu when i right-click on the title bar. i can't get to 'customize' from anyplace...

Or just right click the Taskbar Icon and click customize -> Toolbars ...

i turned off the taskbar icon

i guess it's kind of my fault anyway. who would turn off all the toolbars?

Found this:

[url]Restore the menu toolbar]

yes! thanks, Christiaan. i didn't even think of using dopusrt...

Yoy could also create a hotkey using the following code to enter customize mode: prefs customize

yes, as long as it's not tied to a menu entry - all those hotkeys stopped working when my menu wasn't showing!

Not if you set them as system wide hotkeys

You can always get to Preferences and Customize through the system menu of any Lister (left-click on the title bar top-left icon)

i don't get a system menu there. i just get a standard windows menu.

You don't see this if you click the titlebar icon?

nope...

That shell replacement thing is probably your problem.

ah, but i'm on my desktop which isn't running a shell replacement!

i don't get the menu here or on my laptop (which uses the shell replacement).

When you select WindowBlinds compatibility mode, the extra menu options don't show. When you disable (deselect) WindowBlinds compatibility mode, the extra options appear again!

ah, there it is! i remember i turned that on to get rid of the pin button that shows on the title bar of all child windows...

thanks Christiaan!

Instead of just turning off pins in preferences.

the only thing i see in Preferences says "Enable pins in Lister title bars"

that only turns off the pin on the lister title bar (go figure). the pins on the title bar of all child windows stick around.
