Hit Counter Request (again)

Back in 2005, someone requested a feature for a counter which tracks how often a file is accessed. It can be found in this forum under "Hit Counter Column". At the time, there was some concern about different users accessing the files and how it would be difficult to track all of the accessing if not everyone used Directory Opus.

I would like a similar feature, a "# of times a file is accessed" - call it a "Hit Counter", but I do not care of other people are accessing the file, I just want to know how often I access the file and I know I always use DOpus. In this way, I can track my favorites of various things, mp3's, family photos, by their usage, not some rating system. On the IPod, they have this feature and it works well.

Well, i could imagine this to be a quite messy thing to code. Also, "accessing" a file could mean different things, but you
maybe mean to "open" it, like playing MP3 files, watching AVIs, viewing images. You can already set favorites or use ratings, labels & so on,
which might be an easier way.
