Hotkeys Acting Strange

I'm not sure when, but today I went to select a bunch of files (CTRL-A) and nothing happened. I tried from the menu, and that worked. So I went and took a look at my hotkey settings (for the first time).

A bunch of my shortcuts are in red, and I'm not sure why.

It looks like you turned the Image Viewer toolbar on inside the Lister, or turned on the "always enable this toolbar's keys in Listers" option for it.

You'd normally be prevented from doing that (unless on an old version), but if you've done it, undo it to remove all the conflicting hotkey definitions. The Image Viewer toolbar only works with the viewer and won't do anything useful inside a Lister.

That was a quick response.

The only thing I've done recently is change the max thumbnail sizes it would show, because I needed something bigger than 256.

I don't recall changing what you are suggesting, but if removing the image viewer hotkeys that are duplicating my existing hotkeys, I'm willing to do that.

Thank you.

Don't remove them from the toolbar itself, as that'd mean they no longer work in the viewer. But make sure the toolbar isn't turned on in the lister, and the checkbox I mentioned isn't turned on for it either.

I simply unchecked (not delete) the duplicate hotkeys.

I have to be honest, I don't know what you mean by "But make sure the toolbar isn't turned on in the lister, and the checkbox I mentioned isn't turned on for it either."

I'm not sure where either are.

You'll break hotkeys within the viewer doing that.

From your screenshot, the Image Viewer toolbar is clearly turned on within the lister, 3rd from the top. That's also why you have two File and Edit menus.

Perfect, thank you. I reverted to the default toolbar set and it's gone.

I have zero idea how that got turned on in the first place.

Regardless, thank you very much!!
