How can I clear the recycle bin on an external disk drive

I looked for duplicate filenames on my external backup disk F:

Directory Opus met a lot of duplicates positioned in the Recycle bin.
(So Directory Opus can find the files in the recycle bin!

When I tried to clear this recycle bin I had no possibillities to do so.

Please can you tell me how to clean this 3Gb data?
Files are not visible, There is no option to "clear recycle bin".
Using the propertties function of Directory Opus, there is NOTHING in recycle bin.

External diskdrive is a Seagate Plus Portable Drive with 1 TeraByte capacity.
Do you have an idea where to find a solution?

If emptying the normal Recycle Bin (e.g. via the Windows desktop) does not affect it then it was probably mounted as a fixed drive at some point (causing a recycle bin to be created on it) but is now being mounted as a removable drive (which wouldn't normally have a recycle bin, to my knowledge).

If it isn't being emptied and you want to get rid of it from the external drive, go to the root of the drive, make sure hidden+system files are being shown**, then look for the $Recycle.Bin folder and delete it.

** A quick way to do this is to click on the Hidden count near the left of the status bar, which will toggle Show Everything mode and reveal anything that is currently hidden.

Leo,
Thank you for your quick and simple answer!

By the way, when I delete object on this harddisk, a new $Recycle.bin is created.
I know how to handle now!
